Welcome to Chirk Airfield βœˆοΈπŸ§‘β€βœˆοΈ

Welcome to Chirk Airfield, Mining & Aviation Museum and Chirk Car-Boot Sale.

Possibly the only grass-roots airfield with a 24 hour cafe!!! 😍

Site update

Welcome to the new site. Visiting/Departing pilots; please book in/out using our NEW AIRFIELD LOGBOOK. We hope this will make things easier as the number of times I've personally taxi'd all the way and forgot to book out or booked out and then had to taxi back becase I'd forgot something is far too many to count!

Obviously, DON'T get distracted booking in/out or flying; make sure your aircraft wont move!
Let us know if you have any suggestions for items on the new site.

Ultralight Aviation Systems

Chirk Airfield is the home of Ultralight Aviation Systems; creator of the Rolls Royce of Sub70kg trikes. Not just the most sturdy trike we know of; being made from Titanium tubing, CNC machined brackets and lightweight suspension but due to being made from high end metals it is one of very few Sub70 trikes that can be flown with the fuel tank actually full – rather than just having a line drawn further down the tank saying “full” which will obviously encourage flying overweight: invalidating license and insurance”.

Sub70kg is a great class of machine where you don’t need a license to fly them! Obviously you’d be mad to jump in one and fly without training but with this class it’s the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to get into the air in an actual aircraft.
