Welcome to Chirk Airfield, Mining & Aviation Museum and Chirk Car-Boot Sale
Possibly the only grass-roots airfield with a 24 hour cafe!!! 😍
Open Bank Holiday Monday as well as Sunday. Free camping! 🏕️ Weather forecast is looking absolutely perfect 🤩 😎 We look forward to seeing you here!
Well behaved dogs are welcome on a lead 🐕
I am hoping to set up a weather station sometime in the next few months to give live details on the airstrip including wind speed, wind direction, temperature, humidity and pressure on the ground (QFE)
I may possibly include a webcam snapshot but that’s only if someone will let me use their WiFi on the site; otherwise it will use LoRa to just update the basic parameters. Please Donate
Please Note: This is just a test feed; the station is not set up at Chirk yet, it’s just the weather at my home

Join Chirk Car-Boot’s official Facebook group for up-to-date seller and buyer details: https://www.facebook.com/groups/111889828855722/ The entrance for the Car boot sale is https://maps.app.goo.gl/gazUhHyjWkx877KX9 – Or install the What3Words App and navigate to ///responded.song.tarred – The app should give you an option to navigate to us with Google maps, Apple Maps or Bing.

Chirk Airfield is the home of Ultralight Aviation Systems; creator of the Rolls Royce of Sub70kg trikes. Not just the most sturdy trike we know of; being made from Titanium tubing, CNC machined brackets and lightweight suspension but due to being made from high end metals it is one of very few Sub70 trikes that can be flown with the fuel tank actually full – rather than just having a line drawn further down the tank saying “full” which will obviously encourage flying overweight: invalidating license and insurance”.
Sub70kg is a great class of machine where you don’t need a license to fly them! Obviously you’d be mad to jump in one and fly without training but with this class it’s the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to get into the air in an actual aircraft.
